Care instructions – Oiled surfaces

Oiled wooden surfaces have a warm and natural look while the oil provides a certain amount of protection against moisture and dirt. With regular care, the surface retains its luster and durability over a long period of time.

Everyday care of furniture with oiled surfaces

• Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth – this keeps the surface nice
• If dirty: Wipe with a tightly wrung cloth in lukewarm water (or mild soap/soap spray for wood), wipe dry immediately afterwards.
• Wipe up spills immediately – the oil protects well, but prolonged moisture can leave marks
• Always use coasters for hot dishes, pots, glasses and damp objects
• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources and large fluctuations in humidity/temperature.

The natural character of the wood

• The color matures and changes in daylight – most clearly in the first few months
• Graining, knots and differences in shade are normal and unique to each piece of furniture.
• If necessary: ​​Light scratches or stains can be sanded gently with fine sandpaper (e.g. grit 240–320) along the grain, followed by new oil.
