Every design at AJK carries a code — not just a label, but a story about who created it, when it was created, and what makes it unique. Here’s how to read them.
How to read a code
Article code structure
Each AJK item code is a precise identifier — containing the designer’s initials, a serial number, and an optional variation suffix. No code is reused or reassigned.

JK = John-Kevin Moberg, co-founder and chief designer at AJK. Future designers get their own initial prefix.

Design number — and a collection
The next available issue in JK’s design archive. The issue is chronological — not category-based. The crucial thing is the form: if the design fits multiple product types, they share the same code. JK001 can be both a furniture leg and a base — the same expression, matching products, a collection.

Variation suffix (optionally)
A letter indicating a design variation.. -T (Thin), -W (Wide), -X (Extra), -S (Sharp). The base code without suffix is the original form.

All products
JK001 – JK999
All JK designs — furniture legs, knobs, shelf brackets, pallet frames, home decor and more — are assigned numbers in a single, running range. The number tells you when the design was created, not what it is. A hook can follow a furniture leg. A shelf can follow a pallet.
One code — one design — multiple products
A design code like JK001 is not tied to a single product type. If the design fits multiple product categories, they share the same code — it’s the shape and expression that matters, not the product name. This way, each code creates a collection of matching products.

The numbers are chronological, not categorical.
If JK001–JK006 are furniture legs and JK007 is a hook, the next furniture leg is called JK008 — not JK007B or a new subrange. The archive grows on a single timeline, keeping the system honest, human, and traceable.

Next chapter — four-digit code
Once JK999 is reached, a new chapter begins with four-digit codes — JK1000 and beyond. This requires either JK to create hundreds of designs or new designers to join the archive. The system is built to grow.

A design code is not just a number — it is a design language. If the same shape and expression fits multiple product categories, they share the same code. It is the geometry that determines, not the product name. In this way, each code creates a natural collection of matching products.

Variation system
One design,
many forms
A basic design (e.g. JK001) can give rise to variations. Each variation shares the same design DNA but differs in proportion or shape. They carry the parent code with a suffix — making the relationship immediately readable.

A slimmer, more refined profile of the basic design. Same geometry, reduced mass.
