Care instructions – Untreated wood
Untreated wood gives an authentic and natural expression where the material’s structure, grain and color variations are in focus. The surface is clean and untreated, which gives you the opportunity to choose how it will develop over time.
Everyday care of untreated wood furniture
• Dust frequently with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth.
• If dirty: Use lukewarm water + mild soap (e.g. green soap), wring out the cloth tightly and wipe dry immediately.
• Wipe up any spills immediately – the wood will discolor quickly.
• Always use coasters for hot, moist or colored itemsKeep away from direct sunlight, radiators and large humidity/temperature fluctuations

The natural character of the wood
• The color darkens and matures in daylight – mostly in the first few months.
• Graining, knots and differences in shade are normal and unique to each piece.
• If necessary: Light scratches or remaining marks can be sanded carefully with fine sandpaper (e.g. grit 240–320) along the grain.
• The surface can become greyer or duller over time – many people oil it later for protection
Untreated wood is easy to refresh because the surface can be refinished, so minor marks and unevenness can often be easily fixed.
Wood is a living, natural material that changes over time. Variations in color and tone are a natural part of the material’s character and make each product unique.
